About the Journal
Retail Management Review
An open access scientific journal dedicated to knowledge about retail, its management, its evolution and its theory.
Who we are
Retail Management Review (RMR) is published by CEBRAEV — Brazilian Center for Retail Studies, the body responsible for founding the journal and for its scientific direction. The editorial workflow — submission, peer review, production and publication on the OJS platform — is administered in partnership with Editora Alumni IN, a scientific publisher dedicated to open access journals.
Editorial decisions are made independently by the editorial team, made up of the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, the Scientific Editorial Board and Technical Editors, whose names, affiliations and countries are listed on the Editorial Team page.
Focus
RMR is dedicated to advancing knowledge, in line with the state of the art, on all aspects of retail: its management, evolution and current theory. The retail field includes:
What retail offers and how it is offered to consumers.
How supply and logistics in the sector are organized.
The channels that serve retailers.
Ties between retailers and the other members of supply channels.
All forms of direct marketing.
Retail dynamics in developing markets.
Mission
The mission of RMR is to publish empirical research that tests, expands or builds business management theory and contributes to the practice of retail management. All empirical methods are welcome: qualitative, quantitative, field, laboratory or combined. The journal also receives theoretical contributions, literature reviews and applied technical production — technological articles and experience reports — provided they present an explicit method and relevance to the field.
What we expect from submissions
Articles may take an economic or behavioral approach, but all must present a rigorous analysis of relevant theory and the existing literature. As to the scientific method, empirical work should use modern sampling and statistical analysis procedures, where applicable.
To be published, an article must offer strong theoretical and experimental contributions and highlight their importance to the field of management. For this reason, submissions that test, broaden or build consistent theoretical frameworks are critically examined, given their importance to business management theory and practice.
No restrictions of origin. The journal is not tied to any specific discipline, level of analysis or national context.
